Speaker Bio: Dr. Inez Elliston

Inez Elliston is an educator, researcher, writer, and community volunteer leader whose interests include teacher education, early childhood education, antiracism education and training, intercultural education and citizenship preparation.

As an educator she has worked at all levels of the formal education system including a term as Education Officer in the Ministry of Education and Training, Ontario.

As a community leader she has promoted learning, citizenship development and participation among a variety of organizations and groups in communities in Ontario and across Canada.

She is an alumni representative on the Governing Council of the University of Toronto: a Member of the Scholarship Committee, the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW); a Patron of Women for P.A.C.E , Canada (Project for the Advancement of Childhood Education, P.A.C.E); research Chair, Beta State (Ontario) Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International Society for Key Women Educators (DKG)), and a Member of the Past President’s Council: Canadian Council for Multicultural and Intercultural Education / Conseil canadien pour l’education multiculturelle et interculturelle and its Affiliate, Ontario Multicultural Association Multiculturelle de l’Ontario (OMAMO).
